I’m a helicopter pilot and occasionally use a helmet. First, the helmets for helicopter vs fixed wing are different. Fixed wing helmets are designed to protect primarily from higher forward speed impacts while helicopter helmets are designed for lower speed and to provide better side to side impact protection.
